Causes of discrimination

Discrimination can be caused by many things, but we will give some of the more frequent ones. Stereotypes are a big cause of discrimination, especially for racism. People might make anoying jokes based on stereotypes, or assume a person has a certain character because of it. These stereotypes are most of the time not true, and do not apply to anyone who belongs to the group the stereotype is about. Stereotypes also encourage another cause: prejudice. Because nowerdays the news spreads alot of ideas about certain groups of people. And people tend to believe the news, as it is supposingly one of the more ‘reliable’ sources. These ideas cause prejudice. People judge and form ideas about people before even meating them. And because of the way humans work their first impression really matters. And if this first impression is based on prejudice, it’s most likely wrong.
